Illinois Gold Prospecting

Just want to say Hello.
My name is Terry(bigt).I am new to Illinois and love to find the yellow stuff.
I belong to the GPAA.I moved here from Colorado to be with my girl friend and her daughter.I do get home sick for the wild open mountains and the call from the yellow stuff.I hope to find some here in Illinois.I live in Canton.Hope to meet some fellow prospectors.I wish everybody good luck and may your pan all ways be yellow.

Nice to hear from you Mark.I heard that there is some gold in the spoon river and also some of the streams running off of the river.Good Luck.Let us know how you do,I will do the same.Terry

I have done some panning in Illinois - but have had no luck. I am from Beecher IL - northeast Illinois. I have not met a lot of people that have found any yellow stuff in Illinois or they won't say where- good luck - if anyone is interested in getting together and has heard of any spots that are promising please post it.

Ok Guys if this was Colorado I could tell you where the yellow is.This is Illinois,Well I did a lot of research and some panning here is some spots:
Gold in Gay,Fountain,Sugar Creek.Also in Creeks in Marchall,Lincoln along Salt Creek,along Kickapoo Creek.East fork of Spoon River in Noth East part of Stark County.
Rock River has bedrock,good place to pan.Green River near Amboy bears a good chance to pan.Kankakee River near Momence,Wilmington,and other points. Good Luck
May the bottom of your pan always be yellow.Remember if it is private property get permission.
