Illinois Gold Prospecting

We found some color this summer. my partner and I spent the weekends out prospecting with our rocker box and sluice box did ok no pickers just flower gold we will see about next year? Any one close to toulon want to hook up just drop me a line I check this site everyday later blacksmith

Think I deleted my mail before I sent it, so I will try again. We have found some nice grainy pieces of old near Peoria using dredges. I have done better n Indiana, so I go there most of the time. Too busy on a kitchen now. In the winter, I prefer to go to Morgan Monroe State Forest in Martinsville, In.

I'm in Belleville near St. Louis. What part of the state do you prospect in and do you know of any places that produce? I spent a few trip to Indiana this past summer myself and found flakes and fines, no pickers. Would like to find some places in Illinois and others to prospect with. Maybe we can go sometime and find some color.

I have a friend who has family in Lewiston and his uncle owns a farm next to the Spoon river. I will be going up there sometime next year when time and weather permits. Maybe we can meet up.
